I discovered Roller Skating in 1959 when I was 12 years old. I had been studying ballet for 10 years at that time, and was captured by the flow of rolling! I took classes and private lessons in the San Francisco Bay Area for 10 years and competed those years in the Pacific Southwest Region. I competed at the national level 5 times. When I first Twice since 1959 I didn't walk into a skating rink for 8 years. It is an all or nothing love for me. I have been coaching for 25 years, the last 17 years at the beautiful Skate Plaza Family Entertainment Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. I enjoy all levels of teaching from absolute beginner to the competitive level in Roller Figure Skating and Inline Racing. In good weather I also enjoy teaching outdoors for those recreational skaters who don't want to come indoors... It has been my privilege to be invited 3 years to be an Assistant Coach at the Outdoor Bank Track Clinics held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. It is an awesome fun and learning experience to coach with elite coaches and athletes from around the country. Housing at the Olympic Training Center during the clinics is a special treat, and a valuable opportunity to get acquainted with the other coaches and share training ideas. I seem to work well with all ages, able to communicate with the very young to the very old. I keep it simple and fun! God gave me a patient gentle nature, so I am not intimidating even to the very shy child or adult. Let me introduce you to the joy of Roller Skating. Look through the SkateWind website and see what level of skating is of interest to you. Then call or e-mail me. I look forward to meeting you and skating with you. 7-3-2008 Sara moved to New York.
